I'm On My Own
I'm leaving home for the first time.
And it's kinda scary,
I don't know what I'm up against.
There's a future I can call mine,
Out in a great big world
Where I'm on my own, without friends.
But I can imagine new places I could be,
I can hear destiny calling out to me!
It says I'm finally ready,
And there's amazing things to see!
Somewhere, someday, out there, far away
I can reach it. I believe it.
Whatever distance, I'll run the last mile.
'Cause I'm on my own - but it's worthwhile.
I'm going, I've left, no turning back now.
And it's kinda scary,
The world looks bigger when you're inside.
Before all I know is turned upside down,
Let me capture this moment
Where I'm on my own, with home aside.
Fate took me by the hand,Wisdom made me understand,Freedom took time to show,What Love knew I already know.'Cause when you're on your own,And the waves come crashing over you,You are prepared; you're not alone! There is no wall we can't break through!
Now I can imagine new stories I will tell,I can see the looks on their faces when they hear how the walls fell!I know I was fully ready,Yet there's always new things to learn,And energy to burn,And time to spend,And hands to lend,And days to fill,And I believe I will.Whatever distance, I'll run the last mile.'Cause I'm on my own - amd it's worthwhile.
