Everyone talks about what it's like for them

How difficult they have it

Why the world is unfair to them and why they need to catch a break

 

I'm not one of those people

I'm not poor or rich

I'm not a minority in a backwards small town

I didn't overcome powerful odds to be where I am

 

I just... am

I'm just average

 

No one ever told me, "you can't do it"

I played every sport, and I was adequate

I took every test and passed it

I'd go home and do chores

And sometimes, I was just plain bored

 

I don't struggle and I rarely excel

I fit right in the middle, but well...

 

I'm just average

So what more can I expect?
