If I Could Read Between the Lines

If I could read between the lines,
I would picture you and me,
Dancing together between the letters,
Prancing peacefully above the capitals,
Way up high—past the sky,
Where no one would reach us.

If I could read between the lines,
I would bunch them close,
Feeling the warmth of your words,
Reeling the meaning of your messages,
So I can truly understand
The depth of our love.

If I could read between the lines,
I would never end the sentences,
Leaving them to run-on,
Weaving a perpetual story of us,
Never ceasing, always pleasing
To know you’ll be reading with me.
