I Wish You Were Here

I wish you were here.

My heart is writhing in agony of not having known you.

You were not mine

But the love I have for you is real.

I wish you were here.

These agonizing minutes have passed by

I've spent my days crying for you

I wish you were here.

I stopped writing.

I don't know why.

Maybe I’ll sleep for a while.

I wish you were here

We have another you,

She's a feisty little girl.

She loves your grandma very much

And she gets along with your older brother.

He protects her a little too much and I have no doubt in my mind you would have too.

I wish you were here.

My heart feels full, yet so empty.

There's a space that is left

A space only you can fill.

I wish you were here

To share these happy moments

With all of us.

I really wish you were here.
