I Just Want to Love

Thu, 05/16/2013 - 13:31 -- Woodsie

They told me I'm different -
That I'm not the same.
They said love can only come
To those who aren't gay.
I reared my head back
And laughed like a fool.
But there was no hilarity
In what I had done.
They knew I was gay -
But I'm not the only one.
Millions of us are out there.
We just want to be seen
As equals, no more
And no less we should be.
Love conquers all.
Why not this, too?
Why can't I just love
Who I want
And not be considered
As an insignifcant fool.
I'm not doing this
To wave the rainbow flag high
Or to make you feel bad,
I just want to know why.
Why can't I be accepted
For who I am?
I don't tear you down
For the gender you love.
So why must you do it to me?
I just want to love.
