I Am From

Mon, 12/19/2022 - 22:07 -- Miac23

I am from an origin unknown

From the bloodline steered by hearts of gold

From thriving flesh of juvenile hands, with each touch sparking lights in my mind,

Touched with comfort and sealed with hope.

From the peace of nature and long days in the trees

From waking up to a book on my face, a poem on my mind

I am from full bellies and joys of sweat and paint splatters on clothes,

Where the magic in the mind was the reality of life.

From rest on a couch from long family gatherings

And from the stirrings of passion from the heart of a humble church.

I am from dreams of my sleep, the sway of music whose lyrics mean something

From heads in the clouds and scattered notes and sketches over the floor

From work, work, and more work, for the delayed gratification and joy of helping,

With laughs all around and treasured moments of simple conversation.

I am from places of darkness, coming into the light

From the recesses of my mind, into anxiety and misery

Moving on from the depths of the cocoon into butterflies of beauty.

From unrelentless love building up by the people and their God

From simple, fun times of the unforgettable; captured in memories and photographs.

The places where one learns how to store up for eternal things, but treasuring wonders of now.

I am From daydreams in a tree, watching the sunrise in the summers of life

From running, moving, change, and high heads to the sky

From watching life and its means even from simple breezes in the trees

From a passion for a future, moving on from what was, everlasting, burning coals

I am from the fire.
