I’m in a Pickle

I’m in a pickle

and I don’t know what to do.

I popped it, probably

Without even realizing I was covered in thorns

in a bubble.

I kept believing, you know

I wanted to believe that this wasn’t all for show

that maybe I wasn’t a crybaby after all.

But it started to drizzle

and the stars were divine

“Look at you”, they said

“tangled , twisted, and drenched from head to toe”.

But I shut the curtain and shunned the sky

“Hush” I told them, for they might hear me.

I tapped the tablet screen.

I kept them inside me and played it cool.

It might have been cruel but they think it’s cute.

They’re fine with the way I fiddled to the tune.

But now I’m in a pickle

Because I’m dying inside
