how do you know for sure this isn't the last time you wake me up at midnight and take me outside so we can watch fireworks together?
How do you know for sure this isn't the last time you are going to say goodbye with the intention of only being gone a little while?
and how do you know for sure this isn't the last time you are going to give me a hug and kiss and tell me that you love me and i'm your princess?
I know for sure that when i am no longer in your strong embrace i will be in the embrace of the memories we have made.
When i think about a dance it wont be a high school auditorium, it will be a picture in my heart of me and you dancing as one.
When i think about fireworks I wont think of trouble with the cops, i will think of me and you at the beach in our pajamas staring into the blank sky even after the light show has ended.
when i think about goodbyes and so long i wont think about the ends of things but new beginnings that are waiting just behind like you have taught me to do.
