The House Is on Fire

The house is on fire

What will you do?

Your further actions

Will reveal you

Are you the Firefighter

Who seeks to quell the blaze

On the surface it is quite noble

With the truth in the smoky haze

You wish to preserve the house

You care not for the story

That tells a tale- of earthly hell

That's ghastly, grim, grotesque, gory

You prefer the fantasy

As opposed to the reality

And the hagiographic lore

Told by the house's residence to conceal the sore

That's been festering since long before

And yielded fruits of toxicity

The house is on fire

What will you do

Your further actions

Will reveal you

Are you the Bystander

You did not cause the sore

But you know

You could have done more

You made no correction

You gave no antidote

And now you perpetuate the direction

With your excuses for anecdotes

The house is on fire

What will you do

Your further actions

Will reveal you

I am the Arsonist

I drew a line in the sand

I decided that the insanity

Will no longer stand

The poison that had me infected

I converted into medicine

And after 27 years

Of living in fear

I can say that I am here

I am not an enigma- I bear no stigma

I am worthy of the honor a good student would give to its seer

I am worthy of the honor Kurt Carr would give to a Sigma

Because I am the Buddhist

Because I am the pragmatist

Because I am the liberalist

I am the arsonist
