The Hope

They sit there silent
Waiting for a chance to speak
Their wallets staying empty
Because of a law that must change

Hundreds maybe thousands
They all stand there stranded
No work
No job
No school

Lived here their whole lives
Now they're treated like shit
Is this how we treat people
That are oh so faithful

The country they call home
Throw them aside like trash
The people they lived next to for years
Suddenly strangers

They rely on us
They need our help
You give a small almost unattainable hope
Only to smash it if they fail

This isn't America
This isn't freedom
This isn't fair

They look at us now and see monsters
They might as well leave
They can do nothing here

This needs to change
They need a chance
They need our help
To save our land
