Honey

Happy as a butterfly

Smart as a bee

The sugar to my tea

You were there for me

You watched me grow

And begged me to dance

As I jumped for the stars

From my heels to my tippy toes

Together we'd sing

And plant flowers in the spring

You taught me that

It's okay to get your feet dirty

I'll never forget our endless games

From bingo, to playing cards, and matching memories

Little did I know the memory was us

Flourished like a small fish in a big pond

From a house below

To a smile above

I hope I've become

a granddaughter you're proud of

And on those rare days

When I see a cardinal

It's colorful red feathers shine

I know we'll meet again another time
