Home of exceptions

I've been an exception from the day I was born

coming out- one more

being native American- one more

the head doesn't work without the pills- one more

nobody told us that the declaration had a clause

my melanin, my pride, my psyche, my creation

these make up my story! Not my limitations

where is the fine print that proclaims I am lesser

give me a flag! hand me my papers!

purification and rebirth through the fire and the will

I will bring the better tomorrow

We will draw out the poison

we will finally make things okay

This poem is about:
My country

This poem is absolutely amazing! I can relate on a personal level and it feels nice to know somebody else is on the same page, keep writing!
