Hey Angel

Tue, 12/05/2017 - 19:15 -- lprough

hello up there

is it true that you can see

everything we do

what you really mean to me?

life is like a flower

blowing in the wind

it lives and breathes and wastes away

and always has an end

i imagine what you’d be like

it’s truly bittersweet

i never got to see you

we never got to meet

i think about you all the time

sometimes it really stings

i think of it as the day

you traded your feet for a pair of wings

you never got to live your life

mine’s only just begun

i was supposed to have two sisters

instead i just have one

you were too young to leave this world

mom and dad send their love

now you’re way up there

watching over us from above

sometimes i find myself wondering

how different life would be

if only you had beat the odds

and were sitting next to me

everything happens for a reason

at least that’s what i’ve heard

maybe you were meant to be soaring

a beautiful breathtaking bird

one day i’ll get to meet you

i can’t wait until the day

to be together as a family

without any more delay
