Don't you miss the days when the grass was green,

And people who hurt you were put in time out for being mean?

So much less than stressful,

You're whole world was peaceful

No worries on what to say, think, or do,

Your schedule was planned out for you

No one cared if you goofed around or did the wrong thing,

Your world was free of helplessness and shame

Oh, how your childhood was bright,

With no real problems, no sleepless nights

Don't you wish you could go back?

I don't

Not all childhoods are bright,

There are children with sleepless nights

Every day, children are touched in ways no child should be touched.

Every day, a child somewhere is kicked and/or punched

Whenever they show symptoms, you shake it off,

Thinking it's from something they fell off

Why is Society so fucking blind?

Why are so many innocent children traumatized?
