Growing Up
A year and a half ago
This was when I realized I was an adult
I was constantly surrounded by older people
The ones I would call the real adults
When I was waking up at ungodly hours
Before Dawn
To work with them
When walking around them
Buying groceries
To cook for myself
When swimming around them
At the YMCA
To destress
The ones I looked up to
I was constantly surrounded by them and their silver-colored hair
A year and a half ago
This was when I realized I, too, was an adult
This poem is about:
Me
