THE GREAT MAMA AFRICA @60
Mama Africa flashes white across greens
Sweep it on her marshes and swamps
Smear it through forests and savannahs
Small paradise a piece she choose to offer
But as struggling mother as she
Heaves to curb the bad seedings
Implants on her God's own blessed land
Up she would raise again to great heights
An ailing mother cut open and healing fine
With her past anger and cries of anguish
Seeing her great failure as a nation
Sabotage in slavery and empire conquest
She's celebrating her bitter sweet history
Her great host of chieftaincy way back
And gallant army of warrior solders
Risking their neck in order to free her
She's through wiping off tears in the height of libertine
With seeping minerals oil and gas floating her land
Feeds her crops enrich soil on hard labour
Her bounty economy brought her heaven
Glamorous is she on her cultural heritage
Embroider corals bronzes and ivories
And festivities dangling her name
Uplift she is to ethereal genuine
Arise o her compatriots
Adorn unity floating through
River Niger to Benue and Delta
And minds running with intellect
Let Hausa's blow our mind with Algaita
Sail us away to Igbo's Ogene sounds
As we wriggle dance to Yoruba Showoro ide
Synthesizing unity and freedom @60
