Goodbye Robin Williams

Goodbye Mr.Funnyman.

You forgot to take your bow.

You left the stage in mid applause,

who do we laugh at now?

Was that the problem?

Our foolish eyes just didn't see

that the joker's smile hides a storm inside

a soul desperate to be free.

Perhaps the emotions filled your doubt

but they also made you great.

behind those bright blue eyes, sorrow stirred.

No-one could know your fate.

So many faces filled from ear to ear,

And tears out like gold,

You knew just how to reach beyond a screen,

And make tales of magic told,

I know it makes no difference now,

But behind you leave such love and much grief

Eyes open at last to the darkness that lies.

Behing smiles, and what stirs underneath

So Goodbye Robin Williams,

No more hiding from crowds that cheer

Your final bow manifests within our hearts,

And your legacy is loud and clear.
