Glimpsing infinity

The glass between us is deep
A clear light into my life
You could see in and she could see out
Still no sound was exchanged
Words stayed on tongues
Eyes tried to glimpse but never cough the others
Hands just dangled, clammy with sweat
Words raced like electricity
They couldn’t be stopped
Yet words stayed on tongues

Her silhouette slowly fading in the distance
Hair swaying in the wind
I needed to yell, to scream
But nothing came out
I saw her and she was gone.

A week later a letter came in the mail
Bubbled with tear marks
Rippled by frustration
It was her.
