The Game Called Hell

Im tired

Hi tired, I’m lonely

Tired, are you my one and only?

By the way you overwhelm me with emotion

Fill my head with commotion

Hold tight to me

It wouldn’t be surprising

With everyone who comes and goes away

You, tired, are the only one who stays

Hi lonely, do you want to play?

A game where you sit empty and contemplate.

One where your phone is on but no one calls

Where you fall in love but are the only one who falls?

One where you sit there rolled into a ball

Holding yourself how you want to be held?

Welcome, Lonely, to my game called Hell.

The rules to my game are simple but only the strong will survive

One where nothing you do will make you feel alive

You’ll sit in a crowded room but still feel all alone

We call this sitting at the top of the lack of dopamine throne.

You go home, make dinner for three but eat at your table for one.

Sitting with the porch light on, praying someone will come.

You’ll have so much to say

But hear only your voice all day

You’ll roll over in your queen sized bed

Looking for arms to where you’d rest your head

Only to wake up and somberly remember

A full heart and arms are something you must surrender

The game called Hell is a commitment you will make

Because if you don’t, your serenity is at stake.

Imagine if you lost the quiet and the heart that you keep safe?

Lose all of that for a love that you’d wish to chase?

It’s better to be Lonely than heartbroken to your bones.

Better than to sit dwelling in the unknowns

So darling protect your heart

You’re off to a great start

As you know, Practice makes perfect

All you need to do is trust the outcome is worth it

Join me in this game I call Hell

It’ll serve you well, this game called hell.
