The Future Counselor

Location

Little kids want to be movie stars and astronauts,

I just want to be the difference.

The difference between despair and hope,

The helping hand you never knew you needed.

To inspire your mind to see the chances you're given everyday

To better your world and ours.

Let me break you away from your demons, and past haunts.

Let me show you how worthy of happiness you really are.

Maybe I will fail to free you from the captivity of your thoughts,

But I will never give up on you.

Because you have the light that burns with the passion of a beautiful soul,

I know you do because I see it in your eyes.

Maybe your light is dimmed, maybe it's burnt out.

But it is never beyond help or hope.

I just want you to see that,

To know you're worthy of reaching that.

I will cry with you if that's what you need,

Holding your hand always to guide you out of the darkness.

If you let me, I'll be your difference.

I just want to be the difference to someone.

Because it makes all the difference to me,

My soul aches, my light at times not as bright.

I want nothing more out of my career,

Than to remind others that they can make it through dark times too.

They're strong like me, just sometimes forgetting,

That they can be the difference to their selves.
