Finding Myself

“She’s so fake,” you say

as if I can’t hear you.

“What a liar,” you write

as if I’ve lost the ability to read.

Well excuse me for being kind

when all this time,

all I really wanted to say to you

is that you’re a complete bitch.

You want honesty?

You want truth?

I can’t stand you

#NoFilter

I despise you

#NoFilter

And that makeup you wear?

Honey please,

you aren’t fooling anyone --

you’re just as ugly outside as you are inside.

#NoFilter

“Why does she edit her pictures like that?”

“You know she’s only trying to look thin.”

I can still hear you,

I can still read!

What you’ll never understand

is I do it all for a reason --

I just want to be liked,

to be envied.

You want real?

You want natural?

Here’s a picture of my beautiful smile

#NoFilter

Here’s a picture of my big blue eyes,

no makeup to overshadow

#NoFilter

Here’s a picture of my entire body,

voluptuously curvy

#NoFilter

Without all my filters,

I’m finally free.

Say what you want,

do what you please.

I’m finally happy

just being me.
