Fear Not

She screamed down from the heavens with the power of god beneath her wings
“I will fear no evil, for God is with me
I will fear no danger, for God is with me
I will fear no pain, for God is with me
I will fear no sorrow, for God is with me”
She became the will of freedom, the love for life, the want to survive. The wind ripped past her with demons’ claws threatening to tear her apart, to break her soul.
“Although I walk through the valley of the shadow of death”
She descended into hell wearing her soul as her armor, her heart as her shield, and her faith as her arms. She flew into the gates of hell with a cry of faith to survive, that she might save those who have yet to fall.

She flew into the middle of battle, bullets tore through her body, penetrating her again, and again. Each bullet brought searing pain, but nothing could break her. She had one job... to bring her pilot home. The battle raged smoke and ragged cries filled the sky.
One...
Two...
Tree...
Fower...
Fife...

She banked and rolled, climbed and dove, her fatigued metal groaning in agony of her failing body.
“Come on love... just a little longer...” her pilot coaxed her softly.

Her soul growing weary, flame billowed from her left engine filling her cockpit with smoke.
One.
That was it, just one... with God beneath her breaking wings she banked hard left, pulling her nose high, body aching and groaning.
“Locked”
Away her guns fired taking down the last one.

Her left engine sputtered, her body riveted with holes and in flames. She wasn’t done. She had to get him home.

Sputtering and broken, she shakily flew him back. The ground rushed towards her. This was it.
Three...
Two...
One...
Contact.

She shuttered to the ground where her engines sputtered out.
“The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
Fear not.”
