Fallen

Tue, 07/23/2013 - 22:43 -- Mco2p

I've fallen from heaven, down upon the Earth
back to the cold world, to the place of my birth

I'm sitting here at night, alone out on the street
with little clothing on my back and no shoes on my feet.

My wings are broken, I'm unable to fly.
There's no way to return to my home in the sky.

I start to shiver, I try to take my first step.
but I stumble and fall; I'm not used to walking yet.

I look around me, things seem gloomy and dead.
I'm afraid to discover what may lie ahead.

I try standing again, and begin to walk
swerving around the streets until I hear faint voices talk.

Cold and full of hate, cruel words gushing from their mouths
I hear cries of sorrow and foul curses they shout.

At the site of this place, my body goes numb
What happened to the beauty? What has the world become?
