To tell a story,

To sing a song, 

To rewrite the words

of times gone by,

Or write of the times

that have yet to come, 

To use our right

of freedom of speech, 

To relieve our grief

or to enflame our love,

To fill the silence of our heart

In a word, in a line, in a paragraph or page

So many ways, 

and so many things a poem can do

and has done

using the words on a page

written by me and you.
