Enough is Enough
Location
We walk in the room and you yell at us
I have a lot going on enough is enough
Home, work, and school, you don’t know my life
But as soon as I ask a question you put up a fight
“I already taught this, pay attention”
Sorry that when you speak it just sounds like bitchin
Classes run on and on
Kids are sleeping, ears lost in song
Minds are wandering, nobody cares
About the Aztecs or how we got here
We all have futures whether dark or bright
But the education systems teaching us nothing and that’s worth a fight
I want to be you
That’s what you don’t get
I want to be a teacher
But you’re making me despise it
What happened with you
Are we really that bad?
I’m a little stressed out, I worry about my Dad
You don’t care though as long as I pass
So I resort to acting out, acting like an ass
I don’t want to have to
I just want you to listen
And yet here I am now
Sitting in detention
Why’d you take this job?
To make our lives hell
You should have taken it so you could make my generation excel
But we have stoners and pregnancy and nobody cares
We have drivebys and shootings
but nobody even stares
It’s all of this sh*t you can’t say to your teacher
Don’t say it to your parents, the administration, your preacher
But if we cant speak
What has happened to our rights?
My freedom of speech, it’s all worth a fight
I deserve an education, one that’s solid and needed
This is the twenty first century
For Christ sake our education system is bleeding
Schools aren’t teaching what we need to learn
But I could tell you eight ways how to sleep, talk, or get a curve
Teachers are slacking, they don’t really care
Students aren’t showing up they know what awaits them
Fights, drugs, and sex it’s all in the air
School isn’t for learning but for all of their whims
I can’t wait for college maybe something will change
But then it might not
High School and College could both leave me to hang
