Man’s best friend, who is always by your side,

Energy filled, he is eager to please.

You give him love and a place to reside.

Caring for your friend does not come with ease.

The ways of the world must be taught when young,

So that he may play with his family.

When praised he kisses you with his pink tongue,

As thank you for being his best buddy.

But losing your best friend is just as sad,

As losing a special one you once knew.

Even though the pain and times are so bad,

Always there is a friend to get you through.
