At a Distance

I know you can do so much

But I continue to question

I live in a world that does not bow

But you are here too

And too often I forget who you really are

My adoration, loving forgiver

You trace lines in the clouds

But I will always doubt

Someday I hope to see you

I will see you soon

You snowed in the mountains

And touched every individual petal

I am witness to it all

And I know that I am wrong

But too often I forget who you really are

My attention, my loving bringer

You twist the waves by moonlight

But I will always doubt

Someday I hope to hear you

I will hear you soon

Imagine if I wasn’t so deep

What would you say to me,

If only I had ears?

What would you show me,

If only I had eyes?

I’m ready now

I know I can be better now

I can see you, I do see you

I can hear you, I do hear you

Please save me from this fate

My salvation, my loving creator

Write me a song just as I do

Wash away my doubts like the ocean

Rescue me now even at a distance

What would you have done?
