Desert Flower

Beyond the pools of lotus land,

And the edens of the east,

Aphrodite's golden grace reveals itself in the sand,

The lowly desert flower,

Calls for all to hear,

The sounds of suffered beauty,

An arrant lack of fear,

And in an act of cool respite,

She showers me in shade,

Filling me with hope and joy,

I find myself unmade.
