Deepest Gratitude

Allow me to express my deepest gratitude

In words deep from in my soul

You are always there when I wake up

And the first one to answer when I call

You taught me how to open my heart

To everyone who’s not like me

To endure to the end and preserve my patience

So my mind, and body, and spirit to be free

Your words of wisdom I shall always keep

And lean on all your promises

For people and days shall pass away

But you shall forever be magnificent

Trusting in you has never been a problem

My faith has been chiseled in stone

And just like those who never gave up

I will fight on because I’m never alone

You said you would fight all my battles

My friends would always laugh

Never do I doubt your power

Because I do enjoy when you get the last laugh

My world would never be this good

If I did not have you in my life

And though the future is unseen

I will not give up when my enemies bite.

So here, I speak for myself alone

Instilled with your dignity, humbleness, and love

I shall be the queen you desire of me, Lord

And thank you until I meet you above.
