Conversation

Sitting can do no justice

to your beautiful voice

(even though it is not really so)

I think people skew things to how they want to hear them

so when we talk I love

the exchange of words to each other

where you and I can sit for hours

because isn't that the best kind of exchange?

Of course, sitting does no justice

but the words that I hear from you make it worth it

and why not sit with you?

Even in silence we can communicate

our eyes will meet and we can say

whatever we want, though I'd rather hear you

your voice may crack (in fact, I'm sure of it)

but I love what you say

and I love that you say it to me

and I love when I respond to that and you

in your beautiful, cracked, scratchy, full voice

laugh

a beautiful melody I wish to hear

every day of my life
