This is your year to leave the nest
Your mother cries,
Your father cries,
Wishing you all the best
This is the year you must look after your own health
Time to take the claws out and fend for yourself

It's time to take out those student loans,
You may not pay off 'til you're full-grown
To take responsibility for your own life,
And take off in a keen flight
Working hard, assignments may take all night
It will be worth it because your future is bright

It's your time to work hard and prove who you are,
Whether you want to be a doctor, artist, or a movie star
Know the future will have bumpy roads
But you must march past those and go Go GO
At the end your dreams will be no more
But your story for people to know
