Chasing My American Dream

Location

I always say, I am an American. But I am human first.

“My question is- why is there only an “American Dream”? What about the “Mexican Dream”, the “Indian Dream” and even the “Haitian Dream”.

Is there such thing?

You ask me, how I embody the American Dream.

I embody the American Dream by fighting for what it stands for-

freedom,success and opportunity..

But, I don’t fight for its history of greed and deceit.

I fight for this dream by making those sacrifices, remaining determined, and adapting to the changes that come with life. I am fulfilling the “American Dream” by taking advantage of my opportunity to attend post- secondary school, to practice the religion of my choice, choosing my future occupation and in due course giving back to the world that we live in.

The “American Dream” has a greater significance than simply living in America. 314 million people live in America, but not everyone is chasing the “American Dream” nor are they American.

I always say, I am an American. But I am human first.
