Can I Let You In?
It's turning my thoughts into words that gets me
It's allowing my emotions to break through the membrane of my skin
My skin that I have toughened to thick leather
and my words that I so carefully choose to be unbiased
They try to escape, but I lace them tighter into the corset of my stomach
and cork my brimming bottle
the pressure builds, but I wait
I prefer to drink alone
