The Breaking Point

Location

Wrap your fingers around the bottle,

another sip,another swallow.

Try to keep your shaking hands still,

as you try to down the pills.

Welcome to the land of numb,

nothing hurts,nothing's fun.

Life just drags on and on

hoping your thoughts will move on.

   Your friends say it's "cool"

but how could that be?

it's nothing more than a tool,

a tool to help them feel "free"

   You know this is bad,

but you don't care.

What's the worst that could happen? "mom will be mad?"

they don't see that this is more than you can bare.

   Slowly the lights fade away,

as you close your eyes,

this is the wrong way,

to be saying goodbye.
