Poetry is a candid response

To what I feel inside

It's a gift of exploration

Deep into my mind

If I feel I need to reach someone

I'll record it with guitar

Then add some drums and background noise

Whatever shines a star

I don't really care who reads it

Or hears it in a song

I don't really care who likes it

Or says I wrote it wrong

What matters is I get it out

Because maybe I didn't know

My deepest, darkest feelings

And thoughts I couldn't show
