Appreciation

I grew up with a mom but no dad
But it really wasn’t all that bad
She was there all the time that I had a problem in my life
Maybe she’s here even shedding a tear because this isn’t what you normally see
A girl rapping about who she wants to be
I have two bros, we aren’t really close, we fight sometimes, but who doesn’t am I right?
For me and my bros, this is how it goes, looking at the sky wondering our whole lives why?
Why our parents were gone what did we do wrong?
Looking at each other from sis to brother, when did things change? How come they didn’t stay the same?
Where did pops go? what does he need us for?
Now as newly teens following our dreams, why should we care if he was even there?
Our mom took his place as best she could, she was always on our case but by our side is where she stood
The things he missed are hard to replace, we try and hide it with a smile upon our face
Our home isn’t great but we got familia because in this state it’s everyone’s criteria
We stick together our love is forever we need each other from brother to mother
This is to our mom for the love she gave us, we’ll never forget the joy and love in our gut
For when we pass on or someone has gone, we ask of people to give her a message
It’s her who we remembered when we needed to surrender, please tell my mother that I said I love her.
