and then I met Emma

I thought had made a new best friend...

I wish I knew then, that I did not have to let her walk all over me.

I wish I knew then, that I only felt insecure when I was around her.

I wish I knew then, that her friendship, was not the most important thing.

I wish I knew then, that our friendship was toxic.

I wish I knew then, that I could be confident to stay true to who I really was.

I wish I knew then, that I could stand up for myself.

And then I met Emma.

I know now, what a best friend is.

I know now, that a friend accepts me for who I truly am.

I know now, that a friend does not judge me

I know now, that a friend can always be trusted.

I know now, that I can be secure.

I know now, that I am loved

Because I love her the same way.
