America the Great? More like America's a fraud,

Stealing from the poor, trying to keep up their facade,

Polishing their shoes with the sweat of hard workers,

Blaming us for their troubles when they're the real shirkers,

They act like we're begging, asking for some hand outs,

But we just want our money's worth. What's that about?

Taking all of our taxes like they somehow deserve it,

Using it all for their bought out purposes.

 

Why can oil companies buy government bit-by-bit?

Or big pharma overcharge for their drugs and services?

A cancer patient dies because she cant afford the costs,

When cannabis could've saved their life, but means a dollar lost.

Oh no! Our water system is falling apart!

Let's dump some more oil on it! Yeah, that sounds smart.

Poisoning the people of flint for how many years?

Thanks to the lies of a representative who caused all these tears.

 

Our neighbors all struggling in this capitalist society,

from the money is power messed up mentality.

We turn our backs to ones who need help the most,

Wishing they could have half what we have, they don't have much to boast.

Kids are in the streets hungry and alone,

Withered to nearly nothing, just skin and bones.

Why are we a country that allows this to happen?

Even veterans are on the street, where has the government been?

They've laid down their lives to protect this country.

And now they suffer because they don't have money?

 

Why does our country have to thrive off of the oppressed?

LGBT, women, blacks, and the rest?

What's happened to our morals as a country to get better?

Now it seems that improvement does not matter.

As long as the rich get richer and the poor get poorer,

Then America is the Greatest to the ones who hold the power.

Hello? Can you hear me? No? You don't take calls?

You don't want to hear how our nation is appalled?

 

Let's talk about youth of our nation, like me.

Who want to pursue their education with a college degree,

But can't unless they want to be smothered in debt.

A debt that follows them 'till they're close to death.

How can you make society grow and expand,

When the Education Department is holding out it's hands?

 

The media is so rigged it's sad.

TV's are turning off to stop hearing about the bad.

Not only is it depressing, but it's misleading, too.

The information they give is skewed for their headline's debut.

They only air what fuels the fire rather than air the truth.

Where did the reputable news source go? Did it leave like our voting booths?

 

That's another thing, voting used to have a purpose.

You had your voice heard and the government was at your service,

But now, it's so rigged that people have given up.

Just look at the DNC and how much of it is corrupt.

All he did was be honest and fight for the people,

Where have you been? Doing nothing? Feeble.

 

 

I give up relying on the government,

I give up believing in the lies.

I give up being a sheeple,

I'm cutting all of those ties.

I'm going to stand up for what's right,

I'm going to get up and fight,

For the people,

Of the people,

By the people,

It's time to bring that back!
