Of All The Things That I Miss

Of All The Things That I Miss

I miss the nails on the back porch

The worms in the lawn

I miss the stables by your house

And kissing you until you were gone

And I know nothing I had to say

Could ever keep you from running away

But I still miss the taste of your lips

And the bounce of your hair

The smell of your clothes

The curve in your hips

And the shape of your nose

Your words they travel through time

The “I love yous” hit hard then turn to grime

I miss the tire swing on the trail

The crunching of leaves

I miss the lavender fields next to the stables

And making out in fir trees

And I know nothing I had to say

Could ever keep you from running away

But I still miss the taste of your lips

And the bounce of your hair

The smell of your clothes

The curve in your hips

And the shape of your nose

Your words they travel through time

The “I love yous” hit hard then turn to grime

I’ll tell you all the things you wanna hear

If it means that you’ll come back and I’ll feel you near

I’ll do all of the things you want me to

If it means that you’ll come back so I can be close to you
