All She Wants.

Location

6:10 a.m.

The birds are chirping, the sun is shining, the sky is blue.

The outside looks flawless. The inside is trapped.

She walks into the bathroom, she looks into the mirror, she sees the same thing.

The outside looks tired. The inside is awake.

All she wants to do is Spread Her Wings.

8:00 a.m.

The teachers talking, the students are writing, the clock is ticking.

The outside looks calm. The inside in raging.

She looks over her notes, she re-reads the material, she looks up information.

The outside is mindless. The inside is thinking.

All she wants to do is Fly.

12:50 p.m.

Class lets out, students stream into the hallways, students walk out the doors.

The outside looks busy. The inside is silent.

She opens the car door, she rolls down the windows, she turns up the music.

The outside is loud. The inside is passionate.

All she wants is Escape.

2:55 p.m.

The train whistle sounds, the people flood the doors, the train rolls away.

The outside is lonely. The inside is crowded.

She melts into the crowd, she turns up her music, she looks around at the people.

The outside is packed. The inside is comfortable.

All she wants is To Be Independent.

6:00 p.m.

The people walk out the doors, the lights change, the cars honk.

The outside is changing. The inside is peaceful.

She feels happy in the city, she wants to stay, she has to go home.

The outside is lively. The inside is crestfallen.

All she wants to do is Stay.

7:45 p.m.

The train whistle sounds, the people flood the doors, the train rolls away.

The outside is empty. The inside is empty.

She walks away from the platform, she walks down the street, she runs into no one.

The outside is quite. The inside is sad.

All she wants to do is Go Back.

11:00 p.m.

The homework is put away, the lights are shut out, the sounds dies away.

The outside it dark. The inside is dark.

She thinks about her day, she thinks of her life away, she wants to fly.

The outside waits. The inside hopes.

All she wants to do is Spread Her Wings.

                                          Fly.

                                          Escape.

                                          To Be Independent.

                                          Stay Away.

          Go Back.
