“Why do I wear black?”

Location

It is not a particularly taxing question

Nor is it a question I can easily formulate a response

The obvious answer to this question is that I find it chic,

But there is more to it than that

Black is a melding of all colors

It is clean

It is the absence of light

The absence of reflection

Black encapsulates the universe

Filling in the spaces that stars do not reach

We are born into blackness and depart into blackness

Black is the culmination of all things

It is a universal truth

When all else disappears, black remains

This is why I wear black

To deflect the varying wavelengths of human emotion

To represent every race, culture, and color of life in one form

To be constant

Ominous

Ever present and ever prevailing.
