Autumn Days

Empty sparkles,
From the gray-nothing up yonder,
Swirling before me…

Little butterflies float in my head
Dizzy from lack of rest
For with my beloved fall comes
Sniffles, sneezes and sleepless nights.
I float around all day long
Light-footed on love of live..
Too tired to be upset.
But when I come home
The silver lining yields
To black, sleepy skies,
Rumbling and moaning
Old before their time.
And what should be my afternoon
Becomes the night.
Drowsiness overtakes me
My thoughts crowd in
To overwhelm me
And though these nights
Come sooner, sooner
Sleep flees from me,
Farther, farther.
