The Fall

The Fall

Falling

Just like an empire, you fall

One day you’re on top of the world

The next, you’re fighting to climb a single step

Everyday, you fight to fit into the crowd

Yet you always end up feeling like you stand out

They never give you a chance, to accept or see you as their own

You end up by yourself

Yet you are never truly alone

There are two voices inside you, they are your angel and your demon

One is telling you to keep going, that you are worth something, that you are loved

The other, he feeds on your pain, your insecurity, and rejection

He wants you to join him, at the end of the road of life

Most won’t see you, most will never want to know you

But sometimes, like a light in the dark, someone will find you

They can save your life, they can dig you up

That someone is yourself

Only you can get you out

You won’t be accepted by anyone

Unless you accept yourself

You have to embrace who and what you are

You can’t keep pushing it away, because you aren’t fighting a battle

You are fighting a war

Like a wave, you will fall

Like a bad grade in school, you might fall

If you don’t keep climbing that mountain, you can fall

So I’ll ask you this question

Will you get back up?
