Stalling

I’ll tell you soon,

I promise myself,

I glance at the clock,

Telling myself that I’ll tell you in a few minutes,

But I know that I’m stalling,

I’m buying time,

Anything to keep me from telling you what I know,

But I know I must tell you sometime,

Or else I’ll be swept up in a mess of lies.
