"The Outer You"
We hold our Hope so close inside,
Laugh with those who us deride,
Our true person untouchable,
While evils only scratch outside.
A blended mix of Pride and Fear
Keeps us from showing ourselves here.
Our Soul, our strongest piece of self,
We hide away, but keep it near.
And so the people only know,
The part of us that cannot grow,
But deep within, our seed of sorts,
Repairs our wounds, albeit slow.
