Chaos contained
Because I love you
When I was crumbling, the world morphing
Spinning around me like a top in Wonderland
I still came to you, and pulled myself together
I stitched you up,
Put you together,
Silently working,
When I was consumed with flames
Of my own concerns
My own wants
My own needs
You were fixed all together with a shiny bow
And a new ribbon to hold
That is when I burst
When I cried at the waddling of ducks
When I looked at my own face
I saw her
Not me
I saw a ghost of who my mother used to be in me
You contained me
You loved me even when I would burn
Because you loved me
