The Healing Powers that Poetry Possesses

A small, meek girl with brown eyes and braids

Expressing her creativity through words on a page

Teachers commented, "quite ambitious for the second grade"

She simply released frustations with writing rather than rage

Her love for poetry began

Still shy and soft spoken

Brown eyes shot red from long nights of crying

School left her confused and anxiety ridden

Her only friends were her thoughts, even those weren't always kind

Her love for poetry grew

These days she transfers her passions into words

Brown eyes no longer filled with tears of worry

Her ideas of happiness and peace flow in like a herd

Thus carries on her self-discovering story

The healing powers that poetry possesses
