Words Emblazoned on a Page
With the flow of angry fighting words, I take my final stand
Soaring brighter ever higher in the fire of my own hands
My great song will not diminish in this whirl of wonder when
I will fly and ever grow into the woman I have been
See these words I write upon the page
They ring for me, not you
To me, they sing the sweetest harmony for which none else will do
Sing of trembled budding lily leaves, the rushing darkened stream
Of scared and stronger women in the throes of brighter dreams
Sing the story of my struggle and the proof that I was here
Words endure beyond my body in the crumbled space of years
They're my great unending testament of mind and body willed
Against a host of stronger evils in a battle never stilled
See the written evidence of one who finally took stand
By the fiery will or temper in the strength of her own hands
