Who am I?
I am no longer the faint voice in the distant;
I am no longer the shame that lives because I am a woman, because I am from Hispanic descent, because I am the child of field workers.
I am no longer the drop of water that rides with the tide;
Today,
I am the sun that rises from the west;
I am the drop of water that moves against the tide's current;
I am the descendant of the Aztec warriors;
Now,
I am the sun that sets in the East and the cause for the moon to rise from the West;
I am the acceptance and pride that lies within myself, that lies within my woman hood, that lies within my roots, that lies within my background;
I am Erica.
