Thanks to the Teachers

Thank you teachers for the teachings of men

Who died long ago for their ignorance and sin.

Thank you teachers for the power to think

But I do not partake of the cup that you drink.

No thanks to teachers that give needless facts

Unless they are those that the internet lacks.

Google is a teacher of which today's young are smitten

Thanks to the teachers who teach what cannot be written.

For those who teach drivel or snivel or snot,

I still must listen, for without grades I would rot.

And in the few small things that teachers have taught me,

Some thoughts assumed true, updated to history.

I miss the time of childhood innocence

For my teachers, their teachings together make no sense.
